Supporting literacy development in two‐way immersion classrooms (Grades 3–5)

Abstract: The Challenge Literacy instruction is a vital component of dual language bilingual education. What programmatic structures and instructional practices are used to support bilingualism and biliteracy? This article presents findings from nine two-way immersion elementary classrooms in which students perform at or above the state average in reading.
