Surgeons and perioperative opioid prescribing: An underappreciated contributor to the opioid epidemic

Abstract: Opioid prescribing after surgery remains a key contributor to the national opioid epidemic. Direct surgeon engagement and granular data are required to overcome the limited response to current policies.
