Abstract:The most common prescriptions for antibiotics in surgery are in the area of surgical antibiotic prophylaxis. According to clinical guidelines, beta-lactams, in particular, first and second generation cephalosporins, and in some cases aminopenicillins, should be used as drugs of choice.
