“…Our sample was selected from the list of firms certified in Spain by B Corp (B Corp Spain, 2022). B Corps (bcorporation.eu) are firms that aim for goals similar to those of the CE and strive to achieve balance in the three dimensions of sustainability (Ferioli et al, 2022;Liute and De Giacomo, 2022;Mion and Loza Adaui, 2020). We distinguish between Benefit corporations or purpose-oriented firms, which are a legal form that allows the incorporation of social, environmental, and economic objectives in their social purpose (Gazzola et al, 2019;Mion and Loza Adaui, 2020), and certified B Corps, which are firms that have received a sustainability certification from B Lab due to their high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability (B Lab, 2022).…”

“…Studies that seek to relate stakeholder theory to the premises and assumptions of the circular economy and B Enterprises are scarce in the literature. A search for articles associated with the subject reveals few studies with a similar scope, such as Ferioli et al (2022), Marjamaa et al (2021), Poponi et al (2019), Jabbour et al (2020), and Moggi and Dameri (2021). Based on the theoretical gaps previously raised in Sehnem's (2018) articles, where he states that despite the increase in publications about the circular economy, one of the biggest challenges for academia is to find organisations with characteristics aligned with its premises, and considering that the literature lacks more studies focusing on the B Corp movement beyond the United States and Europe, in countries like Brazil (Diez‐Busto et al, 2021), this study innovates by relating the circular economy in the context of Brazilian B Corps, from the perspective of stakeholder theory.…”

“…The green economy encompasses a number of thematic areas including investments in innovation, technology transfer, ecological products, and sustainable consumer behavior. The green and circular economy perspectives contribute to a broader approach to sustainable development, uniting the protection of the environment, increased competitiveness, and productivity of available resources within an economy (Ferioli et al, 2022).…”
