Abstract:Acute right heart failure (RHF) is associated with high morbidity and mortality. Temporary mechanical circulatory support (MCS) is now part of the advanced management strategy for refractory cardiogenic shock (CS). Among such support systems, veno-arterial Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (VA-ECMO) remains the fastest MCS system to set up.
