Abstract: Current treatments against organophosphate poisoning (OPP) do not directly address effects mediated by the overstimulation of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR). Non-oxime bispyridinium compounds (BPC) promote acetylcholine esterase-independent recovery of organophosphate-induced paralysis.
