Erbsl6h and Bochnik (1958), who provide an excellent and beautifully illustrated account of calcifying vasopathy, refer to it as 'symmetrische Pseudokalk und Kalkablagerungen im Gehirn'-that is, symmetrical deposits of pseudocalcium or calcium in the brainor 'sogenannte idiopathische nichtarteriosklerotische intracerebrale Gefassverkalkungen (Fahr)'-that is, so-called idiopathic non-arteriosclerotic intracerebral calcification of blood vessels (Fahr, 1930). They publish a table of conditions with which this pathological state has been associated.…”
