The brain is the most powerful computational machine composed of a huge set of processors (neurons), each connected with many others (networks), which is able to perform, in real time, a real multitasking job by billions of operations. The transmission of information which need elaboration and computation is operated mostly by the synapses which are the contact points between the neurons. Although this wonderful apparatus is studied at all the possible levels by many scientists worldwide, the full understanding of all the mechanisms involved in synaptic transfer of information is still far to be unveiled. In the present short report will be presented the main mechanisms involved in the information transfer by glutamatergic synapses which represent most of the brain synapses and the framework of the brain computation.
