Synergic Extraction Equilibrium and Substoichiometric Extraction of Iron(II) with 2-Thenoyltrifluoroacetone and Trioctylphosphine Oxide

Abstract: The synergic extraction of iron(II) was carried out with 2-thenoyltrifluoroacetone (Htta) and trioctylphosphine oxide (topo) into heptane. The extracted species was considered to be Fe(tta) 2 (topo) and Fe(tta) 2 (topo) 2 , and the synergic extraction constants were obtained. The substoichiometric extraction of iron(II) was first attained in the above extraction system within 30 min. Its reproducibility was high (RSD 1.0%) in the Fe 2+ range of 18.7-192 μ^
