“…It means that the micelle-like agglomerates influence the generation of the zeolite framework and serve as 'porogen' on the mesoscale in the hydrothermal reaction process. At the early aging stage, according to the previous work, the Gemini-9 surfactant aggregates are multilamellar vesicles micelles, [49] while the TPABr evenly distribute around the agglomerates of Gemini-9 surfactant due to the quite good solubility of the gemini surfactant in the solution. At the beginning of the hydrothermal reaction process, the aluminosilicate phase shaped with the involvement of the TPABr and Gemini-9 template on account of the combined action of phase separation behavior and the electrostatic interaction.…”

“…[44][45][46][47][48] In previous work, we reported a series of asymmetrical anionic-nonionic gemini surfactants. [49] Although, limited examples demonstrate the diversity of hierarchical ZSM-5 zeolites crystal morphologies achievable by gemini surfactants, no attempts to rationalize the role of gemini surfactants structure on the morphology of formed ZSM-5 nanocrystals have been reported yet. Herein, we report the series of anionic-nonionic gemini surfactants and tetrapropylammonium bromide (TPABr) templating route to synthesize hierarchical ZSM-5 zeolites.…”

“…This indicates the presence of ester along with oxyethylene in C 16 ‐E2O2‐C 16 and the presence of oxygen atom (oxyethylene) along with carbonate in spacer part is substantially decreasing their CMC, in spite of their different charges. Similarly, PLSS‐n is showing comparable CMC (at room temperature) with the C 16 ‐E2O2‐C 16 gemini surfactant, although it is asymmetrical with two nonionic chains (the presence of oxyethylene along with ester group) and has other anionic sulfonate group in spacer (Li et al, 2019). This gives a new inference that –O–C=O group along with ether in a gemini surfactant can significantly reduce CMC (up to 10 −6 M), irrespective of the charge the gemini surfactant carries.…”

“…Prasath and Ramakrishnan (2005) synthesized monododecyl itaconate and monocetyl itaconate and tested their application as polymerizable surfactants to prepare carboxylate functionalized polystyrene dispersions. Other applications of itaconic acid‐derived surfactants can be found in the literature, as gemini‐like foaming agents (P. Li et al, 2019) and as corrosion inhibitors (El Hefnawy et al, 2021).…”
