Synthesis and Microwave Dielectric Properties of Mg5Nb4TiO17 Ceramics

Abstract: Mg5Nb4TiO17 ceramic was prepared by the conventional solid-state route for the first time and its microwave dielectric properties were investigated. The crystal structure and microstructure were analyzed using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy techniques. With increasing sintering temperature, the dielectric constant (εr) and quality factor (Q×f) increased firstly and then decreased, while the τf nearly unchanged. Mg5(NbTi)4O15-MgNb2O6 composite ceramics sintered at 1200 oC exhibits microwave … Show more

“…Recently, ceramics with a general formula A n B n O 3n + 2 (n = 4.5 and 5) have been reported to exhibit interesting microwave dielectric properties [6,7]. The crystal structure of these compounds consists of layers of BO 6 octahedra * E-mail: raz@awkum.edu.pk separated by additional oxygen layers that are shifted with respect to each other by half the body diagonal.…”

“…The crystal structure of these compounds consists of layers of BO 6 octahedra * E-mail: raz@awkum.edu.pk separated by additional oxygen layers that are shifted with respect to each other by half the body diagonal. The symmetry of members of this structural series is either orthorhombic or monoclinic in which BO 6 octahedra are tilted and strongly distorted [8].…”
