“…Bismuth titanate nanopowders (Bi 4Àx A x Ti 3 O 12 ) (A = Ce or La; x = 0, 0.5, 1; corresponding to the samples BT, BCT-y and BLT-y where y = 100Áx) were synthesized by the modified solgel method in a two-step process: first by controlled hydrolysis of titanium-butoxide with distilled water, and then by further reaction of the formed hydrated titania gel particles with corresponding ions (Bi 3+ and La 3+ or Ce 3+ ) [13,14].
