Synthesis, Characterization and Antimicrobial Activities of some Novel 3-(4-Bromobenzyl)-5-(Thiophen-2-yl)-4H-1,2,4-Triazol Derivatives

Abstract: ABSTRACT.A convenient and promising synthesis of 4-(alkyl/aryl)-3-(4-bromobenzyl)-5-(thiophen-2-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol was carried out by the reaction of 2-(4-bromobenzyl)-5-(thiophen-2-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole with different aliphatic/aromatic primary amine without any solvent. The newly synthesized compound were characterized by 1 H NMR, IR and Mass spectroscopy and also screened for their antimicrobial activity against various strains of bacteria and fungi.
