Synthesis, characterization, and biological effects of diorganotin(IV) derivatives of substituted germyl propionic acid and crystal structure of 3‐triphenylgermyl‐3‐P‐fluorophenyl propionic acid

Abstract: A new series of diorganotin(IV) derivatives of the general formula (1R3GeCH2RCH2COO)2Sn3R2 has been prepared by the reaction of diorganotin chlorides/oxides with substituted germyl propionic acids in 1:2 mole ratios. These compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses and various spectroscopic techniques (IR, multinuclear NMR (1H, 13C, 119Sn), 119mSn Mössbauer spectroscopies and mass spectrometry). The single crystal structure of the precursor Ph3GeCHRFCH2COOH (RF = 4‐FC6H4) has been determined by X‐… Show more

“…Keeping theses aspects under consideration, in continuation to our previous work, we report here the synthesis and characterization of organotin(IV) derivatives of ( E )‐2,3‐bis(4‐chlorophenyl)‐2‐propenoic acid and their antibacterial, antifungal, and cytotoxicity studies. Cinnamic acid is a naturally occurring unsaturated carboxylic acid that has low toxicity and a broad spectrum of biological activities.…”

“…In dimethyltin(IV) derivative 1, the methyl CH 3 protons appeared as a sharp singlet at 1.0 ppm with well‐resolved 2 J ( 119 Sn, 1 H) having coupling constant 82.5 Hz, which suggest more than four coordination around tin, while in trimethyltin(IV) derivative 2 the methyl protons appeared as sharp singlet at 0.50 ppm with 2 J ( 119 Sn, 1 H) value of 58.3 Hz, which suggest tetrahedral geometry around tin in solution …”
