“…The addition of Y 3+ , the y 2 band shifts to higher frequency side and also band broadens which indicates occupancy of Y 3+ on octahedral B-site. Similar results reported in case of rare earth added Mg-Cd [17,19] ferrites ( Fig. 3).…”

“…The saturation magnetization of Y 3+ added Mg-Cd ferrites is higher than pure MgCd ferrites. This is attributed to enhancing effect on the inter sublattice exchange energy between Mg-O-Y and Mg-O-Fe with respect to the Fe-O-Fe interaction in the ferrite lattice [19]. Similar result is also reported by Mansour et al [21] for Sm 3+ substituted Mg-Ni ferrite.…”

“…Particularly, ZnFe 2 O 4 nanostructure has generated a lot of interest owing to their potential applications in gas sensor, magnetic behavior, electrical characteristics and semiconductor photo catalysis [14][15][16][17]. For these applications the surface morphology of ZnFe 2 O 4 plays a vital role to tune their chemical and physical properties to the appropriate ones.…”

“…The effect of lanthanum (La 3 þ ) substitution on the structural, electrical, dielectric and magnetic properties of ferrites has been extensively studied by many authors [4,5]. It is well known that the size, structure, and shape affect the magnetic properties of the product [6,7]. Surfactants have been used to modify the size, structure and shape of the materials [8].…”
