Twou nique heterometallic cluster organic frameworks, [Cd 4 Mn III 4 Mn II 6 (Tri) 4 (CH 3 COO) 14 (m 4 -O) 2 (m 3 -O) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ] Cd(H 2 O) 2 ·9 H 2 O( 1)a nd Cu[Cd 5 Cu 6 (Tri) 4 (CH 3 COO) 9 (H 2, have been successfully prepared by employing ab ifunctionalt ripodala lcohol ligand as as tructure-directing agent. Crystal structure analyses revealt hat 1 represents ar are example of frameworks constructed from CdÀMn heterometallic chains, and 2 is the first heterometallic MOF based on highest-nuclear CdÀCu heterometallic cluster buildingb locks. Furthermore, the magnetic properties and gas adsorption abilities of 1 and 2 were systematically studied.
