Synthesis, Crystal Structure and Magnetic Properties of Novel Three‐dimensional Frameworks [Mn(PDC)H2O]n

Abstract: A novel coordination polymer, [Mn(PDC)H 2 O] n (1) (H 2 PDC=pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid), has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and single crystal X-ray diffraction. X-ray single crystal structural analyses revealed that two-dimensional frameworks were formed, and further assembled into a three-dimensional supramolecular structure bridged by PDC ligands. Moreover, the magnetic study of complex 1 shows weak antiferromagnetic interaction between the neighboring Mn(II)… Show more

“…This composition provides extremely tunable structures with a variety of chemical and geometric properties. 1 In numerous technical applications including carbon capture, 2 photochemistry, [3][4][5][6] natural gas storage, 7 magnetism, [8][9][10][11][12] luminescent probes for small molecules, 13 catalysis, 14 hydrogen storage, 15 molecular sensing/ separation [16][17][18][19] & detection of high explosives in the vapour phase, 20,21 and other extraction methods, these materials are therefore set to have a significant impact. Several other types of structures have been developed using the field of reticular chemistry or the rational construction of MOFs from molecular building blocks in an underlying topology.…”
