Synthesis, Crystal Structure, and Optical Characterization of the Sulfide Chloride Oxide CsBa6V4S12ClO4 with a Near-Infrared Fluorescence

Abstract: When CsCl, BaS, BaO, V, and S are reacted in a solid-state reaction under inert conditions, pure powders and single crystals of senary CsBa 6 V 4 S 12 ClO 4 can be obtained. Its unique crystal structure has the symmetry R3̅ H (no. 148) and unit cell parameters a = 9.0575(2) and c = 28.339(1) Å. The crystal structure contains polar units [VS 3 O] 3− and a complex BaS 7 ClO 2 coordination. The compound gets its deep-red color from a low-energy charge transfer, which can be explained by an electron transfer from … Show more

“…Silicate-based long afterglow materials utilizing silicate as a substrate have garnered increasing attention in recent years due to the excellent chemical and thermal stability of silicates, along with the cost-effective and readily available raw material SiO 2 . Since the development of the silicate long afterglow material Zn 2 SiO 4 :Mn [ 25 ], as in Japan in 1975, with an afterglow time of 30 min, various silicate long afterglow materials have been developed. Examples include Sr 2 MgSi 2 O 7 :Eu,Dy, Ca 2 MgSi 2 O 7 :Eu,Dy, and MgSiO 3 :Mn,Eu,Dy, with the materials and performance parameters presented in Table 1 .…”
