“…Transition Metal Dichalcogenides (TMDCs), denoted as MX 2 , are composed of transition metals; M denotes a group 4–7 element (such as Mo, W, Ta, Nb, and Mn), and X denotes chalcogens (such as S and Se) ( Yun et al, 2020 ). The different structural compositions of TMDCs give them different properties, such as metals (NbS 2 , VSe 2 ), semiconductors (MoS 2 , WS 2 ), insulators (HfS), semi-metals (WTe 2 , TiSe 2 ), and even superconductors (NbSe 2 , TaS 2 ) ( Zhang et al, 2018 ), for applications in different biological fields.…”

“…InP/ZnS@ PLA-PEG micelles were further embellished with an anti-EGFR nanobody (7D12 Nbs) to assess the therapeutic effect of triple-negative breast tumor. As we know, CuS have been demonstrated as potent theranostic nanotool with promising outcomes in the past decade ( Yun et al, 2020 ; Dong et al, 2020 ). The cetuximab-modified CuS NPs (CuS-Ab NPs) were constructed as a synergistic anti-cancer agent, which could successfully suppress the tumor spread and growth ( Li et al, 2018 ).…”

“…[11,12,[25][26][27][28] Especially, it has been well demonstrated that copper selenide (Cu 2-x Se) nanoparticles (NPs) with intrinsic features for NIR-induced PA imaging, PTT, PDT, and also Fenton reaction-based chemodynamic therapy owing to the generation of ROS through the reaction of Cu + with endogenous H 2 O 2 within the tumor. [29][30][31][32][33][34][35][36][37] NIR-II light (1000-1700 nm) is featured with lower background signal, deeper penetration for tumor therapy, and higher permissible exposure to the skin compared with NIR-I laser with a wavelength of 650-950 nm. [38,39] Therefore, it is highly desirable to construct high-performance photothermal therapeutic agents for PTT in the NIR-II biowindow, especially for treating those deep-tissue-seated tumors like orthotopic bladder tumors.…”
