Synthesis of a new complex of lanthanum on MCM-41 as an efficient and reusable heterogeneous catalyst for the chemoselective synthesis of sulfoxides and tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyrans

Abstract: In this project, L-arginine salen Schiff-base complex of lanthanum on the functionalized surface of mesoporous MCM-41 (La@L-ASS@MCM-41) was synthesized. At first step, 3-iodopropyl trimethoxysilane (IPTMS) was synthesized from 3-chloropropyl trimethoxysilane and potassium iodide via simple S N 2 substitution reaction in dry acetone solvent. Then, the surface of hexagonal channels of mesoporous MCM-41 was modified with IPTMS groups
