But Wang et al in 2007 8 showed that the polyetherimides with multiple alkyl side chains exhibit very good solubility in low boiling chlorinated solvents and in all high boiling solvents. Inclusion of long and bulky multiple alkyl side chains impart extra solubility, toughness, flexibility, and good elongation even above 200%, that is, elastomeric properties in the polyimides but with inferior thermal and mechanical properties .
