Three coordination networks with the 1,2,4-triazole linking units 3-(4Ј-imidazole phenyl)-5-(pyrid-2ЈЈ-yl)-1,2,4-triazole (HIppyt) and3-(pyrazin-2Ј-yl)-5-(4Ј-(pyrid-4ЈЈ-yl)-phenyl)-1,2,4-triazole (Hpypypt), respectively, were synthesized and structurally characterized. The structures of [Mn(Ippyt) 2 ·2H 2 O] (1) and [Zn(Ippyt) 2 · 2H 2 O] (2) were found to be similar despite the presence of different metal ions.
