Synthesis, Structure and Properties of [Gd(c6n0(2)h5)3(h(2)0)2](2n)•(nh(5)0(2))(nzncl5)(2nzncl4)•(2nh(2)0) With Strong Fluorescence

Abstract

A novel one-dimensional metal-isonicotinato inorganic-organic hybrid complex [Gd(C 6 NO 2 H 5 ) 3 (H 2 O) 2 ] 2n ·(nH 5 O 2 )(nZnCl 5 )(2nZnCl 4 )·(2nH 2 O) (1) has been successfully synthesized via hydrothermal reaction and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 is characteristic of a novel onedimensional polycationic chain-like structure and unprecedented ZnCl 5 3-species. Optical absorption spectra of 1 reveal the presence of an optical gap of 3.35 eV. Photoluminescent investigation reveals that the title complex displays a strong blue-light fluorescent emission band.
