Abstract:Derived datasets can be defined implicitly or explicitly. An implicit definition (of dataset π in terms of datasets Γ¬ πΌ ) is a logical specification involving the source data Γ¬ πΌ and the interface data π. It is a valid definition of π in terms of Γ¬ πΌ , if any two models of the specification agreeing on Γ¬ πΌ agree on π. In contrast, an explicit definition is a query that produces π from Γ¬ πΌ .
