Abstract: Reactive sulfur species (RSS) and reactive selenium species (RSeS) play integral roles in hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and hydrogen selenide (H2Se) biological signaling pathways, and dichalcogenide anions are proposed transient intermediates that facilitate a variety of biochemical transformations.
