Abstract: BackgroundCarbohydrate Lewis antigens including sialyl Lewis A (sLeA), sialyl Lewis X (sLeX), Lewis X (LeX), and Lewis Y (LeY) are the commonest cell surface glycoconjugates that play pivotal roles in multiple biological processes, including cell adhesion and cell communication events during embryogenesis.
