The lyssomanine jumping spider genus Sumakuru gen. n. is here described for Sumakuru bigal sp. n., from the Bigal River Biological Reserve in Ecuador. Known from a single male, the embolus of the palp takes the form of a smoothly arching curve, and appears fully mobile, being connected to the tegulum by a thin sclerite and a twisted hematodocha. Data from four gene regions (28S, 16SND1, CO1, wingless) indicate that Sumakuru is the sister group to all other sampled lyssomanines, diverging deeply on the stem lineage of the clade of other known lyssomanines. Unlike previous molecular results, the sampled species of Lyssomanes Hentz, 1845 are supported as monophyletic, with Chinoscopus Simon, 1900 as the sister to Lyssomanes.

Two new species of the genus Chapoda Peckham & Peckham, 1896 are described and illustrated from southern Ecuador. Both new species C. guancavilca n. sp. (♂♀) and C. santay n. sp. (♀) are described and illustrated from Puná and Santay Islands, Guayas province. In addition, two new genera records are reported from Ecuador: Bellota Peckham & Peckham, 1892 (with B. formicina (Taczanowski, 1878)) and Martella Peckham & Peckham, 1892 (with M. gandu Galiano, 1996), along with a new species record of Lyssomanes elegans (F. O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1900). Finally, new faunistic records are given for Corythalia scutellaris (Bayer, 2020), Frigga crocuta (Taczanowski, 1878), F. opulenta (Galiano, 1979), and L. unicolor (Taczanowski, 1871). A distribution map with these and previously published records on the genera here analysed is provided.

A new species of Hypaeus Simon 1900 is described from French Guiana based on both sexes, Hypaeus olympeae sp. nov. We employed morphological evidence, field observation, as well the mitochondrial COI rapidly evolving loci to confirm that both males and females belongs to the same species. Finally, nine species are newly recorded for the salticid fauna of French Guiana, Cyllodania fasciata (Caporicaco, 1954) syn. nov. is considered junior synonym of ACCEPTED MANUSCRIPT / CLEAN COPY Gypogyna forceps Simon, 1900 and 12 COI sequences corresponding to four previously unsequenced Hypaeus species are added to GenBank.
