The reaction of benzoic, 4-methylbenzoic, 2-bromobenzoic and 4-bromobenzoic acids with phenylacetylene was carried out in a toluene solution at a temperature of 110 0C in the presence of a catalyst - 1 mol % [Zn(C4H7S2)4](NO3)2. In the coupling reaction of carboxylic acids with phenylacetylene a mixture of coupling products is formed according to the Markovnikov and anti-Markovnikov rules. A reaction mechanism was proposed and it was found that the yield of vinyl esters increased in the serie 4-CH3-C6H4COOH< C6H5COOH< 4-Br-C6H4COOH< 2-Br-C6H4COOH. It was found that with an increasing acidity of the carboxylic acids, the product formed by Markovnikov rule has been formed in a larger amount. On the contrary, as the acidity of the starting compounds decreased, the amount of the anti-Markovnikov coupling product has increased. The total yield of reaction products of phenylacetylene with carboxylic acid is 44% (65/35) in 4-methylbenzoic acid, 67% (80/20) in benzoic acid, 78% (82/18) in 4-bromobenzoic acid, 82% (85 /15) in 2-bromobenzoic acid. The structure of the synthesized vinyl esters was proved on the base of the analysis of IR, 1H, 13C NMR and Mass spectrums.

The work is devoted to the comprehensive comparative analysis of extraction cakes, obtained after isolation of pharmaceuticals from medical herbs (Aconítum leucostómum, Thermopsis alterniflora, Glycyrrhiza Glabra and Vinca erecta) to characterize their composition and structural features of components, that is necessary for following valorization and for evaluation of extraction efficiency. Application of analytical pyrolysis to analysis of the medical herbs’ residues allowed to avoid disadvantages, connected with preparative isolation of components and get integral information about phytomass constituents and their transformation during extraction. The results have shown that aconite and licorice roots extraction cakes can be considered as perspective raw material for the chemical and biological processing for obtaining of carbohydrates-based products, whereas the periwinkle grass waste is perspective source for obtaining of aromatic and phenolic products. The data of the analytical pyrolysis indicate the сompleteness of biologically active compounds extraction from licorice roots. Extraction cakes of aconite, thermopsis and periwinkle grasses contained different amounts of unextracted targeted pharmaceutical compounds, which can increase their value.

Licorice herb (Glycyrrhiza glabra L.) is a promising herbal raw material, which can be comprehensively used to develop drugs with an anti-inflammatory action.The aim of the article was to development a quantitative determination method of total flavonoids in Glycyrrhiza glabra L. herbs.Materials and methods. The subjects of research were 5 samples of licorice herb harvested in summer in various places of growing and cultivation. Pinostrobin was used as a standard sample. The registration of the electronic spectra was carried out with a spectrophotometer (Analytik Jena AG, Germany) by differential spectrophotometry, 96% ethanol was used as a solvent.Results. The methods for quantitative determination of total flavonoids in Glycyrrhiza glabra L. was carried out at an analytical wavelength of 310 nm equivalent to pinocembrin. The optimum parameters for the extraction of total flavonoids from Glycyrrhiza glabra L. were as follows: the extractant – 90% ethanol; the «raw material-extractant» ratio was 1:50; the extraction time was 60 min; the degree of atomization was 2 mm. The content of total flavonoids for the Glyccyrhiza glabra L. herb has been determined, it varies from 0.39±0.002 to 3.41±0.015% with the humidity of the vegetative raw material from 9.97±0.003 to 10.03±0.003% depending on the place of the vegetation, cultivation and year of the raw material collection. The error of the single determination with a 95% confidence level was ±0.73%.Conclusion. The developed methods for the quantitative determination of total flavonoids in Glycyrrhiza glabra L. herbs can be used to solve the issues of standardization of these medicinal plant raw materials.
