Technology of Dynamic Kill Drilling for Drilling in the Superficial Layer of Deepwater

Abstract: With the development of deepwater oil exploitation, more and more complicated problems happened and some common drilling technologies can not meet the demands of deepwater drilling. Some new technologies had been developed for deepwater drilling. Since the well control system has not been installed, many complicated drilling problems will happen if the shallow gas (water) were encountered while drilling in the superficial layer of deepwater. Well kick is one of the drilling problems. If kick … Show more

“…F. Viera et al [8] introduced the successful application of dynamic kill drilling technology in the Waters off Angola, and introduced the details of the application process of this technology in detail, including the change of logistics reserve, rheological parameters, dosage and mixing ratio of base slurry. J.J Geng et al [9] established a shallow accident prediction model using dynamic kill drilling theory and conducted numerical simulation analysis. Based on previous research and analysis, the relationship between hole diameter and drilling fluid displacement under the same annular pressure was obtained, thus analyzing the advantages of lead hole.…”
