The Sunda Strait Tsunami in December 2018 has prolonged impact on the welfare of victim’s families. This research aims to analyze factors determining family welfare after 27 month of Sunda Strait tsunami. Research involved 123 families consisted of two groups: refugees who living in shelter F(LS) and non-refugees who living in non shelter (FLNS). Almost two-thirds of the families stated that the impact of the tsunami is still disrupting their work, livelihood, and daily lives. Acceptance and gratitude lead to higher subjective well-being, although objectively, family welfare has not returned to how it was before the tsunami. The results of different tests showed that FLS families (compared to FLNS) had better conditions and the health of their homes as well as their livelihood strategies. The objective welfare of the family is negatively affected by economic pressures, while the subjective welfare of the family is negatively affected by both subjective and objective economic pressures. This research shows the importance of external parties helping the victim’s family to reduce their economic pressure, by providing access and opportunities for family income patterns. Subjective economic pressure is a direct mechanism of disaster disruption to welfare as one of the goals of sustainable development.

Family social welfare studies have focused on objective welfare. Whereas there are two approaches in observing family welfare, namely objective family welfare and subjective family welfare. Objective family welfare is the family welfare approach that has been used by the government to determine a policy. Meanwhile, subjective welfare is related to self-assessment of the condition of oneself and their family and the surrounding environment. The question that is answered in this paper is how is subjective family welfare in the perspective of housewives from fishing families in Tabanio Village. Housewives are rarely studied in social welfare themes, their voices are rarely heard even though what they feel and what they value are a manifestation of their family situation. There are two main focuses in looking at the subjective welfare of the family used in this paper, namely positive values and optimism.

Desa Geulumpang Sulu Timu merupakan salah satu desa yang layak mendapatkan perhatian dan pembinaan untuk mendukung peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat desa tersebut. Letak desa yang strategis dan pembangunan sarana dan prasarana yang memadai belum menjamin masyarakatnya memiliki pendapatan keluarga yang cukup yang ditinjau dari masih tingginya angka masyarakat miskin di desa tersebut. Tujuan umum kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan perekonomian keluarga dan mendorong penurunan tingkat pengangguran di desa mitra. Tujuan khususnya antara lain yaitu melaksanakan penyuluhan, pelatihan dan pendampingan teknik budidaya anggur terutama kegiatan penyambungan tanaman anggur kepada masyarakat Geulumpang Sulu Timu Beberapa metode yang diterapkan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu (1) kegiatan penyuluhan mengenai prospek budidaya tanaman anggur serta gizi yang dimiliki oleh hasil dari tanaman tersebut, (2) praktek kegiatan penyambungan bibit tanaman anggur sebagai sarana untuk mendapatkan bibit yang berkualitas, (3) pelaksanaan pendampingan dari kegiatan penyambungan yang telah dilakukan oleh masyarakat.
