Abstract: Study of the transformation undergone by Don Juan del Prado y Ramos, protagonist of the lyrical novel Don Juan (1922) by Azorín, from his traditional coordinates as a mythical character in Hispanic literature -Tirso de Molina's 'Burlador', Zorrilla's 'Tenorio'-to the heterodox vision offered by the author from Alicante in this work, showing the mockery as a pious man. They study in particular their relationship with women and their pious appearance as more resounding examples of the transformation that the author of this novel makes live a paradigmatic character of universal literature such as Don Juan.
