Temperature Dependence of the Conductivity in Ceramic Materials Containing Nickel Nanoparticles

Abstract: We have measured and analyzed the temperature dependence of the conductivity of composites in which nickel nanoparticles are embedded in an insulating matrix. Observing a transition from a variable‐range hopping to a near‐neighbor hopping, with increasing temperature, is suggested to correspond to the microscopically observed transition from a homogeneous‐like to a percolation‐like electrical network.
