Abstract:In this paper, we use molecular dynamics simulation with the embedded atomic method to perform triaxial deformation experiments on single-crystal and nanocrystalline iron at a strain rate of 5×10−9 s−1 and investigate the temperature effect on the void nucleation and growth process. We also evaluate the applicability of the Nucleation And Growth (NAG) model for single-crystal iron. The results indicate that the maximum tensile stress of both single-crystal and nanocrystalline iron decreases as temperature incr… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
