Temporal-spatial patterns of Noctuinae communities (Lep. Noctuidae) in Hungarian apple orchards (Apple Ecosystem research)

Abstract: In our present study we aimed to recognize the temporal and spatial patterns of Noctuinae communities (Lep. Noctuidae) of four differently managed apple orchards laying in different localities of Hungary. Data were obtained by light trap collection. The quantitative data resulting from our investigations were analyzed by multivariate methods and were also analyzed by their diversity characteristics. As a result connections were found regarding the diversities of species and individuals, the patterns of occurre… Show more

“…The basic idea for these appeared first in our papers [72,73], which are dealing with water qualification based on behaviour and features of Heteroptera and habitat characterization, however, at that time the introduction of indicator coordinates took place by fuzzy clustering and not by ordination. The indirect ordination methodology used in this paper has been developed continuously in publications [48,49,50,70,79,80] and was applied in its current form in the paper [98]. Some development of the method group were described in publications [155,156].…”

“…Based on database findings of the National Light-Trap Network for Plant Protection and Forestry seasonal dynamism hides the pattern generating role of the spatial differences in habitats and also of the so-called interannual effects [70,71,129,126], which means that seasonal differences on the same collection spot in the same year are much greater than that can be generally perceived on the same aspects of different years on different Hungarian habitats. Results of Schmera [167,168] also prove this, who examined the flying activity patterns of a selected Trichoptera species and couldn't find great differences between the sampling spots.…”

“…Investigations on agro-ecosystems can be found in Hufnagel et al [32], in Ferenczy et al [16] and in Nyilas et al [64] for pest populations. Methodological questions of the ecosystem surveys are discussed e.g.…”

“…In order to get to know better how the examined agro-ecosystem is functioning, we need correct simulation models of the complex food web system, as well as continuous monitoring of the processes [24,31,32,37].…”
