“…In the low range of 2theta angle (5 • to 16 • ), one can also observe an increased background intensity due to more efficient X-ray scattering in air. Obtained X-ray patterns are similar to those that can be find in literature [31][32][33]. The results of DSC analysis are presented in Figure 1b.…”

“…MO glass is one of the earliest used MO materials owing to its high optical quality and excellent dimensional scalability [36,37]. By doping Pb 2+ , Sb 3+ , Te 4+ , Bi 3+ , or Tl + , the glasses show diamagnetic [38][39][40][41] , but their Verdet constant is small and thus the diamagnetic glasses are unfavorable for application; by doping paramagnetic ions like Pr 3+ , Ce 3+ , Nd 3+ , Tb 3+ , Dy 3+ , Ho 3+ , Er 3+ , Yb 3+ , the glasses show paramagnetism and the value of the Verdet constant is higher than diamagnetic glasses [42][43][44][45][46]. From Eq.…”

“…The results of measuring the Verdet constant for 4% La:Yb 2 O 3 ceramics are shown in Figure 7 in comparison with the widely used TGG material (see Figure 7a) and with some other known magneto-optical materials which are transparent in the spectral range beyond 1.4 µm (see Figure 7b). The dependences of the Verdet constant on the wavelength are obtained by approximating experimental data for a TGG single crystal [32], Dy 2 O 3 ceramics [20] using the approximation formula from [33], Er 2 O 3 ceramics [25], Ho 2 O 3 ceramics [24,35], EuF 2 , NHF single crystals [36], and for some types of magneto-optical glasses: ternary phosphate glass [37] and TeO 2 [38]. and this dependence is very different in the region of absorption bands (0.9-1.1 µm), where it is impossible to use this material as a magneto-optical one.…”
