Terrestrial Digital Television

Abstract: A Terrestrial Digital Television (TDT) system broadcasts video, audio, and ancillary data services over the VHF and UHF bands. It is a wide‐band digital point‐to‐multipoint transmission system providing multi‐media services to the general public. This article briefly describes Terrestrial Digital Television systems and standards, as well as the services they can provide. The pros and cons of the digital television system versus analog television system are also discussed.
