Abstract: Key words: Cardioverter/defibrillator -pacemaker -energy source -elective replacement indication -Li/MnO 2 battery -6 V design The usage of a 6 V lithium manganesedioxide battery results in a significant reduction of capacitor loading time within implantable defibrülators/cardioverters. In order to provide ERI indication a new cathode formulation has been developed.
