The Application of S‐transform Spectrum Decomposition Technique in Extraction of Weak Seismic Signals

Abstract: In processing of deep seismic reflection data, when the frequency band difference between the weak useful signal and noise both from the deep subsurface is very small and hard to distinguish, the usefulness of traditional method of filtering will be limited. To solve this problem, we apply different spectral decomposition methods respectively to experimental data and real data and compare the results from these methods. Our purpose is to find an effective way to protect weak signals during processing deep seis… Show more

“…(4) Ordinal Variables. Ordinal variables are divided into discrete ordinal variables and continuous ordinal variables [26]. Since the number of states of each ordinal variable is not the same, it is usually necessary to direct the values of all variables to the area [0.1, 2.0]; the purpose is to make all variables have the same weight, which can be replaced by implementation, where…”

“…The methods described above are mainly used to depict seismic thin-layer (Huang et al, 2018;Wang et al, 2014). In order to take advantage of various methods, Stockwell et al (1996) adopted S transform with both STFT and CWT, and the time-frequency resolution could be adjusted adaptively (Deng et al, 2015). However, the frequency band distribution by the S transform cannot be adapted to seismic data.…”

“…Kyoseihatekigan (xiang-sheng-po-di wan) is described in a classical Chinese book of medicine (Wan-Bing-HuiChum; Mambyo Kaishun in Japanese) published during the Ming Dynasty in 1587 by Gong Xian-Ting [1]. Gambir is one of the crude drugs prescribed, in Futsugo Yakushitsu Hokan Kuketsu in Japanese (or Wu-Wu-YaoShi-Fang-Kou-Jue in Chinese), and sumac gallnut is alternatively used in the Compendium of Materia Medica, Honzo Komoku in Japanese (Ben-Chao-Gang-Mu in Chinese) [2].…”
