Abstract:Context Some insectivorous bats are some of the smallest flying endotherm. They have a high energy demand to maintain body temperature. Therefore, one can expect that larger animals of a species and larger species occur in colder environments as a result of improved energy conservation related to reduced surface to volume ratio in larger endotherm animals.
