Abstract:By using the Brownian dynamics simulation method, the bounce-off effect
of aerosol particles on their initial collection efficiencies in fibrous
filtration is investigated in the present work. Based on the simulation
results and available aerosol filtration experimental data, two new
correlations for predicting the initial collection efficiency are
derived. It is found that the correlations developed in this work
provide accurate agreement with available experimental results.
