The Ceramic Composition Using Vermiculite

Abstract: The possibility of obtaining effective wall materials and technological lightweight products for high-temperature insulation by introducing the expanded vermiculite into the ceramic mass is investigated. Mineralogy of used clays and vermiculites was studied. They are represented by minerals of the same class, and therefore weak adhesion of smooth surfaces of vermiculite grains is compensated by common genetic origin with the matrix of the basic material of the composite. Thermotechnical studies of the process … Show more

“…Also, it is resistant to temperatures ranging from 260-1200 • C. Due to the remarkable physical characteristics of EV, various researchers have attempted to incorporate the light-weight material in the production of fired clay bricks to investigate the corresponding physical and mechanical properties. [19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27] In a recent study, EV (2%-10% by wt.) was investigated as an addition in porous clay bricks at firing temperatures varying from 900 to 1000 • C. 19 The addition of EV in bricks resulted in lower density, compressive strength, and thermal conductivity properties.…”

“…Для обеспечения противопожарных требований к зданиям и сооружениям на металлическом каркасе используются огнезащитные краски и покрытия на основе вермикулита. Огнезащитные покрытия на основе тонкомолотого вермикулита обладают высокой технологической возможностью для их нанесения на поверхности с помощью кисти, или пневматическим способом [8].…”
