“…To elucidate the characteristics of the HLE char samples obtained from the devolatilization of each dried HLE coal sample (reaction temperature: 800 °C; residence time: 30 min; and atmosphere: Ar), Raman spectra were applied to determine the effect of the degree of drying on the degree of graphitization of the devolatilizated HLE chars. Raman spectra in the 1800–900 cm −1 region could be divided into two parts: the G band (graphitic structure) located at around 1590 cm −1 ; and the D band (disordered or defects structures) located at around 1360 cm −1 . In turn, the D band can also be deconvoluted into three typical peaks: D1; D3; and D4 bands .…”

“…On the contrary, CO 2 and H 2 O can drastically alter the ignition process in dependence of operating conditions with a twofold interaction. They increase system reactivity at low temperatures (Sabia et al, 2007(Sabia et al, , 2015Sjöberg et al, 2007;Anderlohr et al, 2010;Lubrano Lavadera et al, 2016), but delay it at intermediatehigh temperatures (Mueller et al, 1999;Cadman et al, 2000;de Joannon et al, 2002;Park et al, 2003;Wang et al, 2003Wang et al, , 2013Herzler et al, 2004;Penyazkov et al, 2005;Zabetta et al, 2005;Basevich and Frolov, 2007;Glarborg and Bentzen, 2007;Sjöberg et al, 2007;Gallagher et al, 2008;Le Cong and Dagaut, 2009a,b;Mendiara and Glarborg, 2009;Mardani et al, 2010Mardani et al, , 2013Lee et al, 2012;Sabia et al, 2013Sabia et al, , 2015Chen and Ghoniem, 2014;Xie et al, 2014a;Song et al, 2015;Zou et al, 2015;Hashemi et al, 2016Hashemi et al, , 2017Hashemi et al, , 2019Lubrano Lavadera et al, 2016, 2018aEvans et al, 2017;He et al, 2017;Fedyaeva et al, 2018;Sorrentino et al, 2018;Zhang et al, 2019). ...…”

“…In oxy‐H 2 O combustion, fuels are burnt in a mixture of O 2 and H 2 O vapor, and the exhaust gas mainly consists of H 2 O vapor and CO 2 . Figure shows the schematic of oxy‐H 2 O combustion process . As a new generation of CCS technology, oxy‐H 2 O combustion offers the following advantages over oxy‐CO 2 combustion: (a) the system is simplified due to the absence of recycled flue gas system; (b) the sizes of the equipment system are smaller; (c) the power consumption is reduced due to the low pumping costs; and (d) the NOx and SOx emissions are reduced .…”
