The chirally improved quark propagator and restoration of chiral symmetry

Abstract: The chirally improved (CI) quark propagator in Landau gauge is calculated in two flavor lattice Quantum Chromodynamics. Its wave-function renormalization function Z(p 2 ) and mass function M (p 2 ) are studied. To minimize lattice artifacts, tree-level improvement of the propagator and treelevel correction of the lattice dressing functions is applied. Subsequently the CI quark propagator under Dirac operator low-mode removal is investigated. The dynamically generated mass in the infrared domain of the mass fun… Show more

“…The emphasis is of course on fermions in the fundamental representation, as these are necessary for an investigation of QCD [13,14,206,229,341,[353][354][355][356][357][358][359][360] 69 . Less often the properties of adjoint and fundamental scalars have been investigated [25,170,176,208,209,363,364], though they are much more amendable to lattice calculations [9].…”

“…Lattice QCD computations [26][27][28][29][30][31] indicate the quark mass tends to vanish with an infrared momentum cutoff, interpolating between the constituent quark mass m at small momentum and the current quark mass at large momentum,…”

“…(1). The Landau gauge fixing implementation with FFTs requires more memory than the overrelaxation algorithm, see, for example, [20]. Indeed, in addition to the lattice gauge array, it is necessary to have three more arrays to store ∆(x), g(x) (with one fourth of the lattice array size) and to perform a data ordering (a complex array with the size of the lattice volume).…”
