“…This pandemic situation is no longer limited within health crisis rather it's extending unprecedented devastating impact on social, economic sector and it seems to be dispersing scars in the long run (UNDP, 2020). “…The impact of the present global pandemic COVID-19 on the exchange rates in Papua New Guinea was difficult to assess since the country has been experiencing a lack of US Dollars since 2016 (Odhuno, 2020). Using time-series data analysis, Dineri et al (2020) investigated the correlation between the number of COVID-19 cases and fatalities and the exchange rate. After conducting the cointegration test, they identified no significant relationship between new cases, deaths, and exchange rates.…”

“…After conducting the cointegration test, they identified no significant relationship between new cases, deaths, and exchange rates. According to Dineri & Çütçü (2020), the reason for the increase in the exchange rate in Turkey was mainly due to the negative consequences of the country's economic uncertainty during the pandemic. Indonesia has experienced a decrease in exports and an increase in imports during the pandemic period, which has caused a decrease in foreign exchange reserves.…”
