“…The WO6 octahedra are largely distorted, giving W-O bond lengths from 1.68 (5) (4) A, respectively. These W-O bond lengths seem to be a little shorter than those in Li2W207 (Okada et al, 1975a) and in Na2W207 (Okada et al, 1975b). The K(1) and K(2) atoms are surrounded by 13 oxygen atoms.…”

“…Two types of W207 z-anions are known for n--2. The first type is that observed in Li2WzO7 (Okada, Morikawa, Marumo & Iwai, 1975a), and an infinite chain of WO6 octahedra sharing edges. The second is also an infinite chain, but built up of WO4 tetrahedra and WO6 octahedra by sharing corners as observed in Na2W2Ov (Okada, Morikawa, Marumo & Iwai, 1975b).…”

“…Its IR spectrum is dominated by a strong and large band centered at about 850 cm À1 with two shoulders at 770 and 910 cm À1 . Li 2 W 2 O 7 crystallizes in the triclinic space group P À 1 and is built up of largely distorted WO 6 octahedra and LiO 4 tetrahedra (16). By sharing edges, the WO 6 octahedra form infinite double chains of (W 2 O 7 )…”

“…Li 2 W 2 O 7 was reported for the first time in 1928 by Hoermann. 12 Until 1975, its crystal structure with a triclinic space group P À 1 was determined based on the X-ray diffractometry (XRD) analysis of Li 2 W 2 O 7 crystal synthesized at 800 C. 13 The structure of Li 2 W 2 O 7 is built up of WO 6 octahedra and LiO 4 tetrahedra. Up to date, the microwave dielectric properties of Li 2 W 2 O 7 ceramics have not been investigated yet.…”
