The Development and Research Trend of Using Dsas Tool for Shoreline Change Analysis: A Scientometric Analysis

Abstract: The sensitivity of research on shoreline monitoring of coastal erosion is justified due to high density population, climate changes impacts, and intensified development, which are squeezing the ecosystem of coastal zones around the world. The budding fields of optical remote sensing such source medium and high-resolution satellite imagery in conjunction with avenue programming of Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) are widely used extended tools for analyzing the rate of coastal erosion and deposition. “…To collect data for this review, we must select one of the citation databases that index all literature related to SDGs. The Scopus and Web of Science are commonly used databases by the research community for literature searches and bibliometric analyses (Mishra et al, 2020 , 2021 ; Sudarsana & Baba, 2019 ). In this study, the Web of Science (WoS) core collection citation database was used as the primary source of data collection for processing and analysis.…”

“…Relevant publications were considered when the terms incorporated in the search query appeared in the title, abstract or keywords. We steered the search inquiry of each one based on existing research (Mishra et al, 2020(Mishra et al, , 2021Sudarsana and Baba, 2019). We omitted articles not written in English or fall under other document categories (Table 1).…”

“…Bibliometrics uses mathematical and statistical methods to quantitatively analyze literature (Pritchard, 1969). It has been a widely used method to identify the development of a particular field (Mishra et al , 2020, 2021; Sudarsana and Baba, 2019). The most apparent advantage of bibliometrics is that it allows scholars to study specific research areas by analyzing citations, co-citations, geographical distribution and word frequency to draw very useful conclusions (Hood and Wilson, 2001; Jalal, 2019; Mateus et al , 2019).…”

“…VOSviewer (https://www.vosviewer.com) is a free software recently used in different fields of knowledge like medicine (Huang et al, 2020;Xie et al, 2020;Yu et al, 2020;Meng et al, 2020), political marketing (Perannagari and Chakrabarti, 2020), management (Mas-Tur et al, 2020), sustainability (Mishra et al, 2020;Chen et al, 2021) or education (Hudha et al, 2020), for constructing, analysing and visualizing bibliometric networks supporting distance-based maps (van Eck and Waltman, 2017). In this research, VOSviewer was used to analyse the keywordsbased on the degree of centralityand visualized the abstract and keyword networks in the research performed about the implementation of ETs in public services, obtaining the temporal distribution of research topics based on these attributes, gaining an insight into the research evolutions and trends in this topic.…”
