One of the main tasks of modern society is to increase the level and quality of human capital. Human capital influences not only the competitiveness of a particular person, but also the level of well-being of the entire country, the competitiveness of the economy and the prospects for its development. Globalization and digitalization not only influence the formation of human capital, but also determine new components of its development. In accordance with this, the subject of research is current trends in the development of human capital. The purpose of the study is to determine the opportunities and limitations for the development of human capital in the modern labor market. In accordance with the stated goal, the article examines the features of the formation and development of human capital, identifies factors influencing the transformation of labor functions in modern conditions and determines the prospects for the development of human capital.
