The Duty to Accommodate

Murray Baron

Abstract: As the study by Jazayeri et al in this issue ofThe Journal of Rheumatologypoints out, the prevalence of unemployment in people with systemic sclerosis (SSc) is estimated at 40.5%, and SSc is associated with "presenteeism (ie, working while unwell), lack of participation in employment, and ultimately, absenteeism."1This is of course true of patients with the many other musculoskeletal diseases that we as rheumatologists treat.
