In fact, the CJEU has on more than one occasion emphasized the special status of the EEA EFTA States in its rulings demonstrating that it sees the EEA EFTA States as insiders rather than outsiders due to the EEA Agreement and the assortment of other agreements they have concluded with the EU (Fredriksen, 2020; Peers, 2014; Rennuy and van Elsuwege, 2014).
