The effect of atomic motion on photoionization of a -type system

Abstract: The effect of atomic centre-of-mass motion on the photoionization of a -type atom system is studied. The results show that the two lower states of the -type atom with a given momentum p can form a non-ionization state. Nevertheless, the atomic motion would result in redistribution of the ionization and destruction of the population trapping when the centre-of-mass momenta of the atom have a Gaussian distribution.
